No one plans on becoming disabled

How would you feel if you were told that your livelihood was at stake? Not only was your livelihood at stake, but let’s say that you were not physically and/or mentally able to do anything to change the situation. Would you feel anxious, even hopeless? Probably.

A Focus on Results

Don Baker has been a practicing disability lawyer since 2006 and has a proven track record of going above and beyond for his social security disability clients. Baker is known to make personal visits to disabled persons in area hospitals who otherwise wouldn’t be able to receive services because of an illness. Some potential clients do not have a means of transportation for a 30-minute initial consultation; it isn’t uncommon for Baker to travel directly to those individuals.

What you need to know about Social Security and disability.

There are two types of Social Security benefits: Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) depends on how much you have paid into Social Security and how recently you last worked. *To be eligible for Social Security disability benefits, you have to have paid enough into the Social Security system to be insured.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a needs-based disability program that can be affected by the available resources a person has. Also, disabled children may qualify for benefits through SSI.
